RMOA Members Are A Special Breed

(Click here to review the listing of RMOA Heroes.)

The creation of individual, corporate, and community wealth is our overriding concern and has moved RMOA to establish rules and guidelines around membership. Our rules focus on facilitation of Cooperation, Unity, and Purpose among our membership.

The rules for RMOA members are the general guidelines through which we can optimize the probability of success in accomplishing our goals and business objectives. Following these rules does not prohibit or limit our membership from acting individually or collectively to achieve success. These rules are destined to ensure that our entire organization is effective in developing, articulating, and implementing positions that are in the organization's vested interest.

RMOA Rules
  • RMOA will always welcome its friends and make every attempt to entertain divergent opinions. It will maintain a nonpartisan, independent, and open approach to interests and issues affecting business development.
  • RMOA will support those persons, organizations, or entities who support its interests.
  • RMOA will present facts objectively and in sufficient detail to clarify issues that impact on its economic development objectives.
RMOA, while always being mindful of history, will base support on the current facts and/or contemporary issues.

Declarations for Cooperation, Unity, and Purpose

The United States of America is our country and we seek to better it for ourselves and others. Our interests are bound by, and are in keeping with, the Constitution of the United States of America. By seeking equality and justice for all, we will:

Provide Financial Institution Support

Each member of RMOA is encouraged to support, to some degree, approved business initiatives that are sponsored by RMOA.

Hold Elected Officials Accountable

RMOA will be open-minded and will listen to all positions on issues that impact our membership. We have a policy of non-attribution of all comments made by guest speakers.

Support the African American Family and Community

RMOA members are encouraged to discharge their civic responsibility by supporting community organizations and activities designed to enhance family values.

Support Education

RMOA will establish and/or take a strong supportive position in programs that are designed to support students and others that strive for excellence in academic and vocational preparation. In order to accomplish this, our members commit to a number of programs, including the provision of temporary employment for outstanding high school graduates who maintained a 3.0 or higher grade point average (GPA). RMOA also promotes cultural awareness among minority groups and will assist with public awareness campaigns and messaging that supports or identifies positive role models in our communities.

Establish Alliances with Local Churches

RMOA embraces all religious institutions and will actively promote and communicate our ideals and values to church leaders where appropriate. Through these relationships, RMOA may seek support on selected positions, particularly with respect to projects focused on local communities and opportunities where support from the community is essential to the success of the initiative.

Challenge Negative and Support Positive Media

Our Communications Plan enables RMOA and its member companies to rapidly disseminate information centric to positions and issues of interest to the membership.
