Lieutenant Colonel Garfield Eugene Hubbard (U S Army, retired), commonly referred to as Gene, founded and directs Hub Consulting Group, Inc. (HUBCO). Gene received his BA degree in Mathematics from Central State University and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant, US Army. His military career began in September 1959 at Fort Benning, Georgia where he attended the Infantry Officer Basic Course, Airborne and Ranger School. Later in 1961, Gene attended Special Forces training at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and was assigned to one of his two tours to Vietnam. After approximately eleven years in the military as an infantry officer, Gene was assigned to Purdue University where he earned a Master Degree in Computer Science. Serving a total of twenty-three years, active and reserve duty, with his last duty station at Fort Meade, Maryland as the Director of Management Information Systems for First U.S. Army, Gene retired as a Lieutenant Colonel and began his second career at Howard University.
For fifteen years, Gene was the Director of Administrative Computing Services at Howard University responsible for the development and maintenance of the University's business systems. Gene began his third career in October 1991 when he retired from Howard University and started his own business, Hub Consulting Group, Inc. (HUBCO) located in Columbia, Maryland.
In total, Gene has over thirty years of experience in the information systems area, ranging from programmer to senior executive for information systems to president and chief executive officer of Hub Consulting Group, Inc. (HUBCO).
