Charles E. DeShields, Sr., who opted for a military career as opposed to a professional football career, is a Colonel, US Army Retired, dual rated master aviator and former senior flight instructor with more than 25 years experience in Army aviation and air-mobile operation. He served as a Battery Commander in the 82nd Airborne Division and two tours in Vietnam and was a Combat Commander, responsible for more than 3000 troops.
He is recognized as one of the most decorated pilots throughout the entire Vietnam era, having received numerous awards, to include the Air Medal 29 times, three times awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Bronze Star and others. Some of his key logistics assignments have included the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, The Pentagon and (DCSLOG HQINSCOM) Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Headquarters, the Intelligence Command.
As CEO, he directed the management and support services for a variety of logistic related contracts that included multiple support to (SSMSI) Support System Medical Services International, Inc. as well as those contracts presently ongoing. He is a graduate of the Army War College, the Air Force War College and the International College of the Arm Forces. He has a B.S. Degree in Building Construction from Florida A&M University and a Masters Degree in Logistics Management from the Florida Institute of Technology. He is a member of (SOLE) International Society of Logistics Engineers.
