The threefold purpose of the Chairs are to:
  • impart the knowledge and wisdom gleaned from their work in the private or public sectors of American life;
  • conducting, research and development studies for current African American elected officials and entrepreneurs; and
  • identifying talented young people under their tutelage, placing them into meaningful internship positions with relevant public and private employers, and recommending such talented young people for scholarship aid where that assistance, in their judgment, is deemed necessary if those students are to realize their full potential.
